Raheem Sterling and his family are ‘unharmed’ after masked men broke into the player’s home and attempted a burglary, according to reports.

It is is understood that the Chelsea footballer was in the house with his family when the incident occurred last Saturday – but the burglars were disturbed and fled before they could take anything.

Sterling, who lives with his long-term partner Paige Milian and their children in Berkshire, has had his home targeted three times in just seven years after previous incidents at properties in Surrey and Cheshire.

Thames Valley Police has confirmed it has launched an investigation while Chelsea are aware of the incident and are supporting the 30-year-old.

‘We can confirm that Raheem Sterling was the victim of a home break-in this weekend,’ a spokesperson for Sterling said via The Guardian.

Sterling previously had to leave England’s camp at the World Cup in 2022 after a burglary at his home.

‘He’s going home, yeah,’ former England boss Gareth Southgate said at the time.

‘I really don’t know [if he will return]. At the moment it’s a situation that he needs time with his family to deal with and I don’t want to put him under any pressure with that.

‘Sometimes football isn’t the most important thing and families should come first.’

Sterling returned to Qatar in time for England’s quarter-final defeat to France.

A four-time Premier League winner with Manchester City, Sterling moved to Chelsea three years ago and spent last season on loan at Arsenal.

Sterling does not appear to have much of a future with the Blues having not been involved in any of Chelsea’s first-team squads this season.

He is under contract at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2027 but is a member of Enzo Maresca’s ‘bomb squad’ and has been frozen out of the first team.
