First Half
PSG appeared to take the initiative to attack from the start of the match with their first opportunity recorded by Warren Zaire-Emery in the 3rd minute but it was still wide to the left.
After that opportunity, PSG bombarded Athletic Club's defense which relied on the duet of Dani Vivian and Yuri Berchiche with action from Nuno Mendes (6'), Zaire-Emery (13'), and Vitinha (13').
Barcelona's target striker, Nico Williams, also had a chance in the 24th minute from outside the penalty box, but it was blocked.
In the last fifteen minutes, both teams exchanged chances with PSG's actions recorded by Fabian Ruiz (37') and Senny Mayulu (41'), and replied by Oihan Sancet (42').
No goals were scored until the match ended and the score was a 0-0 draw at the end of the first half.
Second Half
PSG immediately attacked at the start of the second half with a chance created by Senny Mayulu, but Unai Simon was able to anticipate it.
In the 57th minute, Kvaratskhelia, who had been substituted, created a chance from outside the box but it still went wide of the right side of the goal.
A minute later, Athletic Club responded through Alex Berenguer, but his shot sailed high over the PSG goal.
PSG brought on Goncalo Ramos 15 minutes from time to add to their attacking prowess.
In the 87th minute, Fabian Ruiz had a chance with a close-range shot, but Unai Simon was able to ward it off.
PSG failed to capitalize on any of the opportunities, and the score remained 0-0 until the final whistle.
