Alejandro Garnacho will rejoin his Manchester United teammates in pre-season training despite Rubem Amorim recently axing him from his plans.
United players have been making their returns to Carrington this week to begin work ahead of the 2025-26 campaign with the squad jetting off for their tour of the United States later this month.
At the end of June, it was reported Amorim had made the decision to banish four stars from his pre-season plans with Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony ordered to stay away.
All four players – along with left-back Tyrell Malacia – have informed United they wish to leave this summer with the club allowing the quintet to delay their returns in order to find a new employer.
Rashford has already reported back for training this week despite being told he can stay away with Garnacho now set to join him.

The Argentina international publicly criticised Amorim following United’s Europa League final defeat to Tottenham, comments that appeared to seal his fate.
Amorim reportedly told his player to ‘pray he finds a new club’ in the days that followed that defeat in Bilbao with Garnacho left out of the squad for the final game of the season against Aston Villa.

On Thursday afternoon, the winger shared a picture of him seemingly asleep on a flight with the caption ‘coming’.
ESPN now report Garnacho has been given permission to head back to Manchester for pre-season despite uncertainty over his future.
Chelsea have held interest in the 21-year-old since the turn of the year while Napoli have reportedly made a fresh £45million offer.
Garnacho, who scored 11 goals in 57 appearances last term, was left out of the United squad for the Manchester derby last December but fought his way back into his manager’s plans. Amorim singled out the player for special praise, hailing his ability and willingness to adapt to his demands on the training pitch.

But the former Atletico Madrid youngster was left out of the United starting XI against Tottenham at the end of May with Mason Mount selected ahead of him.
‘Until we reached the final, I played every round. And I played 20 minutes today – I don’t know,’ Garnacho said. ‘I’m going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens next.’
Amorim aimed a dig of his own back at the player, reminding him of the big chances he was guilty of missing earlier in the competition.
“Some players come in, like Mason Mount against Bilbao [in the Europa League semifinal] and changed the game. Who missed the big opportunity in the first half against Bilbao? Yeah [Garnacho].’
