Chelsea will try to maintain their positive start under coach Thomas Tuchel when they face Barnsley in the FA Cup fifth round on Thursday evening local time or Friday morning IST.

The Blues travel to Oakwell with three wins and a draw in the Premier League since Tuchel took over from Frank Lampard. Meanwhile Barnsley is unbeaten in three Championship matches.

Four unbeaten matches with three of them winning saw Chelsea penetrate the top five of the Premier League standings . The most recent win came at Sheffield United 2-1 on Monday night. Jorginho's goal from the penalty kick was the winner.

It was the second match in succession in which the international proved his prowess in taking penalty kicks. In the previous match, Chelsea won at Tottenham Hotspur thanks to Jorginho's penalty.

Barnsley will host the Blues after two matches to draw Cardiff City 2-2 and Nottm Forest 0-0, after ensuring they beat Norwich City 1-0 in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Currently they are in the middle of the Championship standings.

Facing Barnsley, Chelsea are more favored to qualify for the next round. Victory in this FA Cup match will add to Tuchel's brilliant record at the start of his leadership at Stamford Bridge.

In this match, Tuchel certainly cannot rely on defender Thiago Silva. His flagship player since at Paris Saint-Germain was unable to join the group to Oakwell because of a hamstring injury . However, Timo Werner and Kai Havertz are expected to be in the squad.

Winger Christian Pulisic, who previously missed the win at Sheffield United due to personal reasons, will still look into his availability for this tie.

Meanwhile, N'Golo Kante has recovered from a hamstring injury . Tuchel revealed that the midfielder will be played from the early minutes against Barnsley.

Tammy Abraham has the opportunity to be played again after previously contributing to eight goals in six matches in the FA Cup, with five goals and three assists.

In the home side, they have nearly two weeks off as the match against Derby County at the weekend was called off due to waterlogging.

Valerien Ismael hopes that some of his injured players will return to play. However, Aapo Halme, Ben Williams, and Liam Kitching, are likely to remain out.

Cauley Woodrow, who has scored nine goals in 23 games in the Championship this season, is expected to lead the line with Victor Adeboyejo and Dominik Frieser on either side.
